GMC is preparing a diesel version of the Yukon SUVAugust 3, 2020
The 2021 GMC Yukon full-size SUV with a 3.0-liter Duramax diesel engine is slated to begin sales in November. While there is no data on the fuel efficiency of the new engine, there is also no data on how much this version of the SUV will cost.
When the 2021 GMC Yukon SUV was unveiled, it was announced that it would be available with three engine options. However, initially only gasoline engines were available to buyers. Now there is evidence that the car can be ordered with a 3.0-liter in-line Duramax turbodiesel with a volume of 6.0 liters.
Overseas publication GM Authority reports that the GMC Yukon SUV with diesel Duramax will be available for order in November this year.
The new 3.0-liter Duramax engine also powers the Tahoe and Suburban SUVs. There, its power is equal to 277 horsepower (624 Nm). For comparison, the largest engine proposed for the 2021 GMC Yukon is the 6.2-liter V8 with 420 hp. All three engines are mated to a 10-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission.
Fuel efficiency metrics are available for the petrol versions of the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban SUVs. They completely coincide with those for the GMC Yukon and GMC Yukon XL. But for a diesel engine, these figures are unknown.
