GM launches tiny Macaron Wuling Hong Guang Mini EV in China

In China, a very small electric car appeared with a body length of 2917 mm. It was created by the developers of the auto giants GM and SAIC.

The Wuling Hong Guang Mini EV concept car with its modest body dimensions has now received a new version called the Macaron. The model was developed in China by a local enterprise GM and SAIC.

The tiny electric car is available in three new colors: avocado green, lemon yellow and peach pink, as well as an optional solid roof for contrast. The car also received additional safety features such as a standard driver airbag, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution (EBD), tire pressure monitoring and an option for tracking pedestrians at low speeds.

The list of features also includes a rear-view camera and parking sensors. At 2917mm long, 1493mm wide, 1621mm high and 1940mm long, the Wuling Hong Guang Mini EV is 222mm longer, 170mm narrower and 66mm taller than the Smart EQ ForTwo.

It has a 2 + 2 seating arrangement, and the second row seats can be folded down, increasing the luggage compartment volume from zero to 741 liters when loaded to the roof. The electric motor delivers 20 kW and 85 Nm of torque.

The small battery pack provides a range of up to 170 km. Car owners can remotely control charging. The Chinese electric car develops a top speed of 100 km / h. Local prices range from RMB 37,600 to RMB 43,600.
