GM designs logo for electric HummerAugust 18, 2020
Revived American brand will receive a new trademark
General Motors has applied for a logo registration for the Hummer EV brand, which will be used for new electric models.
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) registered a patent application of the American concern GM for the Hummer EV logo on August 7 of this year, which can be used to designate land vehicles and bicycles. It usually takes months to register exclusive rights to a trademark, but it is already clear that GM has developed a logo for an electric Hummer that will be marketed as GMC in the foreseeable future.
The logo is a large H with the word Hummer inscribed, with smaller EVs to the right of it. The logo font matches the Hummer lettering on the radiator grille recently shown in the teaser. The presentation of the GMC Hummer EV electric pickup will take place in the coming autumn, but its production will start only a year later, because due to the pandemic, GM did not have time to re-equip the assembly site. Following the pickup, it is planned to release the Hummer EV SUV.
