GM began selling a new low-cost crossover in China

China begins sales of Baojun RS-5 compact crossover. Baojun is a joint venture of the American concern General Motors and the Chinese company SAIC, low-cost models created specifically for the Middle Kingdom are produced under this brand. They are widely used components and assemblies of General Motors.

A feature of the new crossover is the brutal body design, which is aimed at male buyers. The exterior is characterized by a wide grille with a chrome-plated grid, “two-story” lighting engineering with block headlights hidden in the bumper, as well as a stick in the shape of a stick on the sides.

The salon is made in a modern style, it uses a digital instrument cluster and a tablet display of the multimedia system (12.3 inches).

The length, width, height of Baojun RS-5 are 4570, 1870 and 1705 mm respectively, the wheelbase is 2700 mm.

At the heart of the design of the car is a new platform with independent rear suspension. RS-5 is equipped with a gasoline turbo engine GM N15T and stepless variator. Engine capacity – 1.5 liters, power – 151 hp, torque – 250 Nm. Drive – only front.

In the basic configuration, the cost of the car in China is 158,000 yuan

RS-5 was the first car with a new Baojun brand logo: the old one used the image of a horse, but the new one is a kind of intricate diamond-shaped composition.
