Germany named the best low-cost car in 2019November 25, 2019
The compact KIA XCeed crossover became the best available car of 2019 in Germany according to the local Auto Bild agency. The Korean new model won the Best Car Under 35,000 Euro nomination at the prestigious Golden Steering Wheel Award.
Interestingly, in Germany, cars that cost up to 35,000 euros belong to the budget segment
The world debut of the KIA XCeed cross, based on the third-generation Ceed hatchback, took place last summer. The novelty, which is positioned as a model that combines the practicality of a crossover and the handling of a hatchback, is 85 mm shorter than the European bestseller KIA Sportage – the most popular model of the Korean brand in Europe.
KIA XCeed shared the line of engines with the Ceed hatchback, which is offered in Europe with three gasoline and two diesel engines. Among the first – a 1.0-liter turbocharged tricylinder engine with 120 hp, a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 140 hp and a 1.6-liter turbo engine from Ceed GT and ProCeed GT, developing 204 hp and 265 Nm of torque. The diesel range includes 1.6-liter engines with a return of 115 hp. (280 Nm) and 136 bhp. (320 Nm). A 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed “robot” with two clutches is used as a transmission. The drive is offered exclusively front-wheel drive.
