German tuners said goodbye to gasoline Smarts, not sparing the skinAugust 22, 2019
Mansory bureau introduced a package of improvements for Smart with traditional ICEs. The atelier completely redrawn the body of the minicar, radically altered the interior, added signature designer touches and worked on the engine software, raising the return by 40 percent.
During the modernization, ForTwo received new bumpers, wheel arch extensions, side skirts and an exhaust system. The standard radiator grill gave way to a product with vertical slats, made according to the patterns of modern AMG models. Side mirrors, lining on the air intakes, hood, spoiler and diffuser were covered with carbon fiber, and 18-inch custom wheels complemented the look.
At the same time, they showed both a regular ForTwo and a convertible. The aerodynamic body kit of the open-roof version is less aggressive, and the general concept of interior refinement is similar. The steering wheel, front panel, door cards, gear lever and even the mats on both cars are covered with fair skin with black stitching. The seats and steering wheel bear the Mansory logo.
A three-cylinder gas turbo engine with a displacement of 0.9 liters after chip tuning began to produce 125 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque instead of 90 horsepower and 135 Nm of torque. Those wishing to buy Smart with traditional powertrains should hurry up, because the production of Smart gasoline was completed on May 31.
Mansory has kept secret prices for modified ForTwo and does not disclose the circulation of upgraded minicars. Given the scale of the alterations, designer city cars will not be available – for example, a similar project from Brabus increased the price of ForTwo to 60 thousand euros.
