German tuner built a 558-hp A-ClassMarch 21, 2018
German tuning studio Posaidon presented a new project – a modified version of the “charged” hatchback Mercedes-AMG A45. The car increased the engine’s output and modified the robotic transmission.
The two-liter 4-cylinder turbo, which on the usual A45 AMG produces 381 horsepower (475 Nm), was equipped with a new supercharger, an enlarged intercooler, racing spark plugs, a modified intake and a new exhaust system with an electronically controlled valve.
The unit also received a system for injection of a water-methanol mixture and a rewritten control program. As a result of modifications, the engine output increased to 558 horsepower and 660 Nm of torque. Dynamic characteristics of the charged Mercedes-AMG A45 have not yet been reported.
The previously presented Posaidon 500-hp A 45 AMG is able to exchange the first hundred in 3.5 seconds. The maximum speed is 315 kilometers per hour. The usual hatchback for acceleration to 100 km/h requires 4.2 seconds, and its maximum speed is 250 kilometers per hour.
In early March this year, GKN Driveline introduced a prototype based on the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45. The car was turned into a plug-in hybrid with a mechanical and electrical traction distribution system between the wheels, installing gearboxes of its own design.
