The revived German brand Borgward, whose products were popular in Europe more than half a century ago, began selling the most affordable Borgward BX3 crossover.

The budget SUV Borgward BX3 debuted in the spring of 2019 at the Shanghai Motor Show. Now the brand has finally announced the start of sales of new items. In length, the new cross reaches 4,410 mm with a wheelbase of 2,560 mm, its width and height are 1,828 and 1,670 mm, respectively, and the ground clearance is 187 mm. So far, an inexpensive Borgward SUV is available for purchase in China, where prices range from 96,800 to 130,800 yuan. In total, local dealers are ready to offer customers four modifications of the novelty. The brand plans to cross the border of China.

The movement of the German-Chinese “budget” Borgward BX3 is the only 1.4-liter “turbo four”, which produces 150 horsepower. Together with it, a robotic gearbox works, but the drive can be front or full. The list of options available for the new product includes dual-zone climate control, multimedia with a “floating” touchscreen, adaptive cruise control, 17-inch alloy wheels, leather trim, a collision avoidance system and more.

Recall that the West German brand Borgward was revived in 2015 with the participation of the Chinese auto concern Foton. At the facilities of their investor in China, the Germans assemble cars. Today, the Borgward model range includes, in addition to the BX3, the large BX7 crossover, the mid-size BX5 and the BX6 cross-coupe.
