German auto industry lags behind Chinese electric car marketSeptember 28, 2020
This opinion was expressed by the director of Districom Group Peter Hage.
Recall that on September 26, a motor show started in Beijing, where 160 new electric cars are presented, 147 of which belong to Chinese car companies. We note the director of Districom Group Peter Hage, Chinese electric cars in the future will supplant Tesla models, as well as BMW and Volkswagen.
He clarified that German companies are building electric cars on new power sources, but the brands do not have many new products. In turn, large sums are invested in the production of electric cars in China, and the funds themselves are allocated not only by manufacturers, but also by the government. Also, the country’s authorities welcome the transition to electric cars as much as possible and develop the infrastructure of charging stations.
According to the head of the research center in China, Stefan Brazel, the German car industry should learn from the experience of China, since Beijing has been focusing on electric cars for a long time.
