George Russell: We are sure to succeedMarch 7, 2019
Career debutant Williams George Russell so far consists of victories and titles – in karting, Formula 4, in GP3 and Formula 2, where he became the champion on the first try. In an interview with Reuters, the briton said that he hoped to succeed in Formula 1.
George Russell: “I remember how, at three or four years old, I pedaled a toy tractor on a track circuit and brought up water for radiators. Of course, then I moved the map behind the wheel. Autosport is all that is in my life.
I participated in the tests of Formula 1 with Mercedes three times, twice with Force India, I worked with Williams and McLaren. It is hard to believe, but I have already piloted seven Formula 1 cars. This is an amazing privilege, although my career is just beginning.
I talk a lot with Norris and Elbon, with Leclair, Verstappen and Okon. We together acted on the slopes, I hope our generation will set the tone in Formula 1 in the next 10-15 years.
Moving to Monaco? If you live in Monaco, then your career develops successfully. Let’s hope that one day it will turn out, but I have no goal to move there. My goal is to get comfortable in a team, to establish a working relationship and to enjoy the debut season.
I believe in the team, in what we can add. Who knows how everything goes. You need to cross your fingers and hope for the best. I have a premonition that everything will be fine. Maybe not in the first race, not in the sixth, maybe not this season, but we will definitely succeed. ”
