Geneva Motor Show may take place in 2021September 19, 2020
Palexpo shared its thoughts on the format of the event.
According to the data released, the new owner of the rights to host the annual Geneva Motor Show, Palexpo, is set to host a media-only event in 2021. It is assumed that all the work on the installation of stands of automakers, representatives of the organizers will undertake for a “modest” payment of 165,000 – 824,000 dollars. The basic service package will include a stand for one car, rooms for ten media representatives, a rotating platform and a video wall. For the maximum amount, they will provide a room for one hundred people and a stand for four cars.
It is reported that such a decision was made by the organizers due to complaints from representatives of automakers about the high cost of installing stands. In addition, if before the manufacturers spent on full-fledged 10-day presentations, now the car show will be held within three days, which will significantly reduce costs. In addition, it is expected that the focus will be on the 30-minute press conferences on the central stage, which will be broadcast live on the Internet.
It should be noted that currently none of the automakers have confirmed their participation in the Geneva Motor Show 2021. Recall that this event is considered one of the largest in Europe and the largest in Switzerland. Every year, the auto show brings to the country’s treasury up to 200 million Swiss francs, which corresponds to an amount of 220 million dollars.
