Genesis will bring a compact electric car to New YorkApril 17, 2019
The premium brand Genesis, owned by Hyundai, showed the teaser of a compact model, which will debut at the New York Auto Show. The novelty is a concept with an electric power plant, which the company presents as “a big surprise in a compact form factor”.
Judging by the images, the new Genesis concept is a three-door hatchback or crossover. In front of the car body, the firm “shield” is guessed, the shape of which was definitely influenced by last year’s electric show car Genesis Essentia. In addition, the electric car has a V-shaped head optics and, probably, a glowing logo.
There is no official information about the power plant concept. Essentia was equipped with a multi-engine system capable of accelerating the coupe to 97 kilometers per hour in less than three seconds.
The basis of the electric Essentia is carbon fiber monocoque. The interior uses carbon, leather of different colors and aluminum. A two-door integrated fingerprint sensor and a face recognition system camera were integrated into the central body rack. With their help, you can open and close the doors, made in the form of “butterfly wing”.
