Genesis G80 has a 365-horsepower power plant and solar panels on the roof.
Genesis officially unveiled its 2022 electric G80 at the Shanghai Auto Show as the brand’s first all-electric car. At the heart of the electric Genesis Electrified G80 is a pair of electric motors that collectively deliver 365 hp. and 700 Nm of torque, evenly distributed between the front and rear axles. Genesis claims the all-electric G80 can hit 100 km / h in an impressive 4.9 seconds.
Genesis has also equipped the electric vehicle with a 400V / 800V fast charging system that allows customers to use different charging infrastructures. The automaker has yet to specify the capacity of the car’s lithium-ion battery, but says the car will be able to travel more than 500 km and can charge from 10% to 80% in just 22 minutes. The solar roof collects energy from the sun to increase efficiency.
The Electrified G80 is also equipped with a DAS system that can automatically engage or disengage the engine and axle depending on different driving conditions, taking into account vehicle speed and driving mode, to ensure smooth shifting between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. In addition, it has received the V2L function, which allows customers to use up to 3.6 kW of electricity to operate electrical appliances.
In an effort to make the car as comfortable and quiet as possible, Genesis has equipped it with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC-R), which reduces noise in the cabin by measuring and analyzing road noise using four sensors and six microphones located inside the car to create opposite sound waves. …
Very few visual changes have been made to the Electified G80, although the massive closed radiator grille immediately catches the eye. Genesis has fitted the cabin with an array of natural and recycled materials, including natural-painted leather on the seats, console and rear couch. There are also elements made from recycled wood. The vehicle can be ordered in Matira Blue or Dark Green Two-tone.
