Genesis Tests Mysterious G80 Sedan PrototypeApril 16, 2020
It is expected that a sports version of the all-new Genesis G80 will soon be released, although the automaker had previously stated that this time there would be no G80 Sport.
KCB.com has published new spy shots of the prototype, which is still covered in disguise even after the G80 sedan has already gone on sale. In this new shot we see the same thing that we saw a few months ago – alloy wheels of a special design.
It is expected that the “Charged” Genesis G80 Sport in the model range will replace the existing G80 Sport with a 3.3-liter turbocharged unit, as well as a version with a 5.0-liter V8, sold in foreign markets. The all-new G80 Sport will feature a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged gasoline engine. It will have a maximum power of 420 hp. A couple of him will be an 8-speed automatic transmission.
For the recently discontinued model G80 5.0, a 5.0-liter V8 gasoline engine is used, which provides a maximum power of 425 hp. The 3.5T engine that is replacing it has great torque for a comfortable ride. It also uses a dual fuel injection system (PFI + GDi), a central injection GDi, a low friction cylinder, integrated thermal management (ITMS) and a water-cooled intercooler. Due to the latter, it is easy to maintain cooling efficiency in summer or when driving through traffic jams.
