After weeks of teasing teasers and spy photos, the premium sub-brand Hyundai Motor has finally officially unveiled its first Genesis GV80 crossover. The debut of the novelty was organized in South Korea. Concept cross was publicly presented back in 2017. The manufacturer decided to keep its features on a serial SUV, which surprised many experts. The novelty got a branded radiator grill, high-tech headlights Quad Lamps and a distinctive body shape: a pair of sharp lines running along the doors and extending to the sides of the car. 22-inch wheels complement the stylish appearance of a luxury crossover.
In the manufacture of many body parts (for example, the hood and doors), the manufacturer used ultralight and yet durable aluminum.
The brand tried to maintain its loyalty to the concept when working on the interior. Inside the car, we see a two-spoke steering wheel with leather upholstery, a digital dashboard, as well as a 14.5-inch wide-format infotainment screen on the dashboard. It can be controlled using a special panel on the center console with handwriting recognition. This allows Genesis GV80 passengers to quickly record important information. For silence in the cabin is the active noise reduction system.
Already in the “base”, the novelty immediately gets ten airbags, an intelligent cruise control, a rich list of driver assistants, a special electronically controlled suspension that adapts to the desired road surface and much more. You can purchase a new product in two- and three-row versions.
As for powertrains, the Genesis GV80 engine range for the home market is still known. At first, customers will be offered a car with a 3-liter V6 turbodiesel with a power of 274 hp, paired with 8АКПП. In other regional markets, the crossover can get two gasoline engines: a basic 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine with a return of 300 hp. and a 3.5-liter 375-hp turbocharged V6. Four-wheel drive is available as an option. Basically, there is a rear-wheel drive system.
In South Korea, the Genesis GV80 will appear this month.
