The Hyundai Genesis premium brand will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2020, as part of the automaker’s development plan for Europe. The main emphasis is on the flagship SUV GV80.
Judging by information from insiders, Genesis finally decided to start working in Europe. While the company was in no hurry to enter the local market, waiting for the appearance of a line of crossovers. The information was obtained from preliminary documents of the organizers of the Geneva Motor Show, where in March 2020 the participation of a South Korean company was announced.
It is worth noting that a Hyundai representative has not yet confirmed the information. Noting that a final decision on participation has not yet been made. In addition, accurate, and even approximate, information about the start date of sales has not yet been announced. Earlier this year, Hyundai Marketing Director Cho Won Hong said this could happen in a couple of years.
So far, Genesis is represented in the markets of the USA, Canada, South Korea, as well as in Australia and the Middle East. The premium brand plans to release two SUVs in the next two years – the GV70 and GV80, as well as an all-electric sedan in 2021.
The future flagship GV80 is already fully declassified in spy photos, although the debut is only expected in the coming month. When it enters the market, it will compete with the BMW X5 and Mercedes GLE.
Meanwhile, the new Genesis GV70 continues to overgrow with details. By the year 2021, Hyundai’s premium sub-brand is planning to expand its lineup by offering customers six car models at once.
