Genesis GV90 could become a serious competitor to BMW X7January 24, 2020
It could be a luxurious full-size SUV.
Premium sub-brand Hyundai Motor has finally unveiled its luxurious mid-size Genesis GV80 SUV. In total, by 2021, the brand plans to offer customers six new models at once, one of which is the more compact GV70 SUV. At the same time, according to motor1.com, Genesis is considering a full-size SUV, such as the GV90, which can compete with the BMW X7 and Mercedes GLS. In the latest report of the brand there is no specifics: the automaker is only evaluating its prospects in the market of full-size SUVs. The timing of the release of potential new products on the market is also not mentioned. Apparently, this will not happen soon.
In the meantime, Genesis is concentrating all its forces and resources on a line of six models, working on the third all-electric SUV.
Recall that at the official premiere of the GV80 SUV, Genesis teased fans with six models, the public has not yet seen the silhouettes of some of them. One of the future novelties is a coupe in the spirit of the Essentia concept, while the other was like an electrified hatchback. But a large SUV, which could become the new flagship of the brand, was not among them. Such a model would help Genesis compete with the German brands that are currently leading in sales. It was the “Germans” who at one time set the standard for luxury, and Genesis quite successfully managed to repeat it.
