Genesis GV80 will go on sale early next yearAugust 30, 2019
The Korean premium brand is preparing to launch production of a production version of the GV80 concept, which will appear on the market early next year, and a smaller crossover, called the GV70, will be released another year later.
Genesis unveiled the GV80 concept at the 2017 New York Auto Show. And then the model served as a demonstration of electrified fuel cell vehicles. It is assumed that this will be the first crossover added to the brand’s SUV line, despite the fact that the brand needs at least two more crossovers to balance the lineup that was presented by sedans.
Test prototypes had a number of elements similar to what we saw on the concept car, and confirmed that the production version will use such elements of the 2017 GV80 model as LED headlights and taillights or the front grille, but today we want to talk about the interior.
There are also suggestions that the 2.2-liter diesel engine will be replaced with the new 3.0-liter V6 heavy fuel oil. In addition to the internal combustion engine, the new GV80 is expected to include some electric component. Some consumers are waiting for the launch of a pure electric Genesis SUV, but this is unlikely due to the fact that we have not yet seen a single environmentally friendly Hyundai Motor car. larger than small or medium sized models.
Global brand chef Manfred Fitzgerald told Automotive News in March that a three-row crossover could appear in late 2019 or early 2020, and photo spies have recently discovered the brand’s first test mule-and-cross SUV, the GV70.
The GV70 crossover will be released almost immediately after the large GV80. If the GV80 debuts on schedule at the end of 2019 – at the beginning of 2020, the GV70 may appear in a couple of months. The third SUV was included in the brand’s roadmap, which Hyundai showed reporters last year in South Korea, and it can join the line in 2021.
