Genesis GV80 will go into mass production on December 2November 29, 2019
After many delays with the release of the first crossover of the Korean premium brand, detailed information about the new product finally appeared.
The GV80 will hit the assembly line on December 2, and shipments to customers in South Korea will begin in early 2020 after its first appearance in late December. It is known that each vehicle will be individualized at the request of future owners. This will complicate the production of the crossover, but it makes it possible to distinguish the brand from other automakers in South Korea.
In the basic configuration, the Genesis GV80 will receive rear-wheel drive and a 5-seater saloon. An all-wheel drive system and a 7-seater interior layout are optionally available. Customers who primarily drive in the city can choose rear-wheel drive, but there is always a demand for four-wheel drive, and many people who buy SUVs choose it. In addition, in total, you can choose one of 12 options for body color. There are “nine varnishes” and “three matte”. It is unnatural for Korean models to choose three types of matte colors. It is known that matte will be white, gray and green shades. Glossy colors do not yet reveal.
The car will receive wheels in dimensions of 19, 20 and 22 inches. These three options for personalizing the exterior play an important role in the overall perception of the car. It is known that 22-inch wheels will receive Michelin tires.
The interior will have 6 options. In addition to the basic finishes, two types of “designer bags” have been added, and luxurious materials such as genuine leather and Nappa leather can be installed as options. In addition, to organize a different atmosphere in the cabin, various types of materials for finishing elements, such as glossy black, wood and aluminum, can be used.
There are a number of additional features that the buyer can install: a projection display, a panoramic roof with a sunroof, and an electric rear curtain. In addition, the car will have a SmartSense package, which includes a “black box”, captain’s seats of the second row, a premium audio system and the ability to connect a smartphone. For the first time in Korean cars, a large 14.5-inch display and augmented reality navigation will appear.
