Genesis G70 station wagon spotted in a serial bodyJuly 30, 2020
According to new spy photos, Genesis is preparing the G70 with a new body, possibly a Shooting Brake.
The updated Genesis G70 has recently been in the news, the most recent of which was the publication that the model will lose its manual transmission after the restyling of the 2022 model year. The news might be disappointing if Genesis sold over 100 G70 automatic transmissions for all of 2020, or if the transmission itself were slightly better.
As for the aforementioned 2022 facelift, the G70 will receive a new exterior, interior and, as previous spy shots have shown, a new body option. Fresh photos just show the updated Genesis G70 station wagon in a serial body. It’s worth noting that the prototype rides on the same gray sports rims previously seen on one of the test mules and the G70 3.3T sedan with Sport package. As in the case of the sedan, behind the five spokes are Brembo red brake calipers,
The camouflage is still pretty tight, but it does allow for stylistic features borrowed from the new G80 and GV80, including split headlights and a taillight. When the car stops, a large V-shaped brake light can be seen behind.
This prototype has been spotted in Europe, where the G70 station wagon will compete with the recently unveiled Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake. Currently, the only carmaker competing in the luxury compact station wagon segment is Volvo with the V60.
