Genesis diesel engine warranty doublesJune 15, 2020
This decision was made after complaints from customers about the engine idling. Now the warranty for such engines will have one of the longest terms in the entire automotive industry.
Premium Korean brand Genesis has decided to extend the warranty period for its 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine. This became known on Sunday, June 14. The term will become exactly twice as long – now the guarantee will be designed for 10 years or 200 thousand kilometers, depending on what comes sooner. The decision to expand the warranty was made after numerous complaints from customers about vibrations idling.
Thus, Genesis recognized problems with this type of engine and suspended the shipment of SUVs. At the same time, company representatives noted that such a motor operation does not affect the safety of people in the cabin, but it causes discomfort. The cause of the problem is already known – this is due to the formation of carbon deposits that occur during long-term operation of the engine at low speeds.
At the same time, the revocable campaign has not yet started, since the company just can not say how long it will take to solve this problem. To begin with, they plan to deal with those machines for which pre-order is issued.
