Genesis announces debut of its new Genesis G80February 18, 2020
The Korean automaker will present its premium sedan at the Geneva Motor Show.
The third generation of the G80 sedan of the premium sub-brand of the Korean Hyundai brand will make its debut at the Geneva international motor show, where AutoTimesNews journalists will be sure to be. According to our sources at the Hyundai Motor Group, mass production will begin on February 28, and a performance with a 2.5-liter gasoline unit and 3.0-liter diesel versions will be demonstrated at a Swiss event.
The photos were taken the other day in Surgut, where now the temperature drops to −20 degrees Celsius. Apparently, the Korean company decided to conduct winter tests here, with Hyundai Sonata sedans with similar red license plates in the neighborhood.
The prototype design is still difficult to distinguish because of camouflage, but the Genesis G80 sedan has retained the characteristic roof profile and the shape of the side glazing. Judging by the “two-story” cutouts for headlights, the sedan will look like the latest models of the brand: LED optics with double horizontal stripes in front and behind, which the GV80 crossover managed to try on, can be expected.
There is no information about the technical component of the new product yet, but according to preliminary information, the turbocharged V6 will become the most powerful engine in the range of power plants of the new sedan, that is, the large aspirated V8 5.0 will resign.
