In China, sales of the new budget crossover Baojun RS-3 began. Baojun is a joint venture of the American concern General Motors and the Chinese company SAIC, under this brand low-cost models are created specifically for the Celestial Empire. They are widely used components and assemblies from General Motors.

In the basic version, the cross is estimated at 71,800 yuan, in the top configuration, its cost is 89,800 yuan.

From the point of view of the exterior, the novelty is a kind of symbiosis of two other models of the brand. On the front, it looks like a larger representative of Baojun – the RS-5 crossover, while on the back there is a considerable resemblance to the RM-5 minivan.

Inside, everything is modern: an electronic dashboard, a multimedia system with a widescreen screen (10.25-inch diagonal), sports seats and a steering wheel.

The body length of the RS-3 is 4300 mm – this is 30 mm higher than the same parameter as a competitor: the popular Hyundai Creta crossover.

Under the hood, the new creations of GM and SAIC have a 99-liter 1.5-liter naturally aspirated GM L2B gasoline engine. in combination with a manual gearbox and 105 hp – in the version with a variator. The drive of the novelty has no alternative – front. Soon, a 1.2-liter “four” with a capacity of 131 hp will join these engines. Note that the L2B motor is well known to Russian consumers for Chevrolet Cobalt and Ravon R4 cars.
