Gelandevagen has another “pirate” copyMarch 9, 2020
The famous German Mercedes-Benz G-Class is skillfully imitated by the Inlay SUV from Myanmar. Recall that this country is considered one of the poorest in the world.
The SUV Mercedes-Benz G-Class, which is popularly known as Gelandevagen, will have a decent number of analogues and quite frank copies all over the world. One of the imitators of the popular German SUV is the Inlay SUV from Myanmar. He became the first car of local design and production. In terms of auto components, this SUV has nothing to do with the brainchild of Mercedes-Benz. This is just a stylistic copy of Gelandevagen, albeit a bit arbitrary. In fact, we have before us a classic “frame” with a three-door tilt body.
When designing Inlay, we used individual design solutions found on the G-Class. This, for example, spectacular stamping on the sides.
On the technical stuffing of the new SUV has not yet been reported anything specific. It is only known that the engine, transmission and axles for Inlay are bought in China from BAIC and other companies. The production of the SUV is small-scale, and the factory, which is the supplier of the local Ministry of Defense, is engaged in it. Every year they plan to produce a thousand of these machines, most of which will go into the army. But SUVs from the “civilian” circulation will differ in body color – white, yellow or red.
