Geely Vision X3 updated: a different design and more powerful engineJanuary 18, 2019
Geely’s compact crossover Vision X3 was in fairly good demand in the home market, but at the end of the year, sales of the model sank significantly.
The SUV Geely Vision X3 was launched in China only in August 2017, for five months it sold around the country in an edition of 31,233 copies. In January-November of 2018, dealers sold about 10,000 of these cars each month, but in December sales fell to 3,080 units. So a quick restyling of the model is fully justified: images of the refreshed car were brought into the base of the Ministry of Industry of China.
Psevdokross received new bumpers, on the grille instead of “circles” appeared chrome-plated dies, “boomerangs” of daytime running lights were replaced with stripes. Recall, Vision X3 is based on the Geely SC5-RV hatch model of 2010 (also known as GC5). After restyling, the dimensions of the SUV have not changed: the length is equal to 4005 mm, the wheelbase is 2480 mm. According to the first indicator, the “Chinese” only slightly falls short of the Renault Sandero Stepway (4083 mm), although the distance between the axes of the hatch French brand is greater (2589 mm).
Refreshed Geely Vision X3 is still equipped with a one and a half liter engine, but the engine power has increased from 102 to 109 hp It is not yet known whether the torque has changed, in the motor of the pre-reform model it is equal to 141 Nm. The Chinese certification authority does not indicate the boxes either, but they are most likely the same – a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. Drive only front.
The date and place of the premiere of the updated “X-third” are not announced. It is possible that the model will be presented at the Shanghai Motor Show, which will open in April. Pre-reform SUV today costs from 50,900 yuan. It is unlikely that the restyled Vision X3 is very expensive.
