Geely quietly updated the crossover Atlas

The Chinese automaker quietly carried out another restyling of its Atlas crossover.

For Geely Atlas, this is the second restyling, and even the third, given the appearance of the Pro version, since in Geely this period is fundamentally called an update, not a generational change.

Meanwhile, since 2018, the model has no chrome “mustache” in the front, the shape of the fog lights and the rear bumper has changed, the pattern of the wheel rims has become more complex. In the cabin, the physical buttons of the multimedia system were replaced by the virtual ones, and additional USB outputs appeared on both sides of the central tunnel. Now Atlas will receive new headlights, a nameplate, a set of wheels and a radiator grille with an unusual pattern in the form of three stripes of iridescent cells.

The Atlas interior is essentially the same except for the glossy panels that have appeared. The updated crossover borrowed the D-shaped sports steering wheel from the “younger” Coolray, from which, in all likelihood, the “older brother” copied the gearbox joystick. In addition, instead of the multimedia touchscreen built into the dashboard, Atlas has a separate 10.25-inch tablet with a diagonal. Most systems are now virtualized.

A 1.8-liter turbo engine with 184 hp and 300 Nm of torque is responsible for the performance of the updated Atlas, which is paired with a 7-speed robotized gearbox with two clutches. Alternatively, a 163 hp engine could be offered. and 250 Nm, combined with a manual transmission. For such options, the dashboard remains the same, the multimedia screen is slightly smaller, and the “automatic” from the line has completely disappeared. Top modifications received air conditioning for the rear row of seats, steering wheel adjustment in all directions and voice control of the multimedia system.

Geely Atlas 2021 model year will receive only five trim levels from 88.8 thousand to 118.8 thousand yuan. The restyled version has already arrived at Korean car dealerships. In all likelihood, the official presentation of the new car has been postponed until the Beijing Motor Show, which will open its doors at the end of the week.
