Mercedes-Benz and Geely are developing a concept for a new cavity electric crossover under the Smart brand. There are no details about the new product yet, but the head of the brand Daniel Lescoe has confirmed work on a five-door car with an all-electric power plant.
The only thing that is known about the crossover is that it will be comparable in size to the MINI Countryman and will be the largest Smart model to date. In addition, they say about the new product that it will be a compact, but roomy and practical car for the city.
The crossover is expected to be powered by a single 268 hp electric motor. with a power reserve of up to 500 kilometers. According to experts, the development of the design of the new Smart is carried out by specialists from Mercedes-Benz, and its technical part – by experts from Geely. It is expected that the premiere of the concept will take place in September this year at the Munich Motor Show, and the production version will go on sale next year.
