Gas IVECO Stralis NP drove 1,728 km without refuelingOctober 30, 2018
Last year, IVECO unveiled a unique truck, the Stralis NP, which featured a powerful gas engine that was economical as well as environmentally friendly.
Stralis NP, constructed in the depths of IVECO, traveled from London to Madrid without a single refueling, setting a record of 1,728 kilometers. This is reported by Rambler. Previously, the model was able to reach the mark of 1 600 km without refueling. Moreover, the path was made with a full trailer load of 30,000 kg with a wheelbase of 4×2.
According to the director, who was in charge of the flight, a tractor left London with a full fuel tank, and the need for refueling in Madrid arose as long as 2.5 days. The motor itself turned out to be very economical, and produces 15% less carbon dioxide, and practically does not produce emissions with particulate matter.
The model with a gas engine is currently available in four different configurations with a wheel formula 4×2 or 6×2 and a gas engine capacity of 400 or 460 horses.
Apparently, IVECO may soon become a leader in the European market due to increasingly stringent environmental regulations. However, the question remains of the existing infrastructure, and the inertia of the truck market.
