GAC unveils Aion S electric carNovember 20, 2018
A fully electric car GAC Aion S was presented at the Guangzhou Auto Show.
According to the assurances of the Chinese automaker, the car boasts a power reserve of 500 km (measurements were carried out on the obsolete NEDC cycle). Prospective sedan was presented at the motor show in the Chinese city of Guangzhou. Another feature of this new product is the presence of a fourth-level autonomous control system.
This level of autopilot allows the driver not to control the behavior of the car on roads with “predictable” traffic (for example, autobahns) – approx.
According to GAC representatives, the Aion S model is currently only available as a prototype. The GEP (GAC Electric Platform) electric platform of the new, second generation was chosen as the platform for the Chinese novelty. The length of the car is 2 732 mm, and its drag coefficient is 0.245. Unfortunately, there is no data on the remaining dimensions of the sedan.
There is no information about the power plant yet. It is only known that on fully charged rechargeable batteries, the GAC Aion S will be able to cover a distance of 500 km. Moreover, this figure can be increased to 600 km and above – in this case, the maximum speed of the sedan should not be higher than 60 km / h.
As for the presence of a fourth-level autopilot, according to reports by the GAC employees themselves, the Aion S model can get it only after a couple of years.
