G-Class turned into a yacht on wheelsJune 25, 2020
Tuning studio Carlex Design from Poland never ceases to amaze with its bright and extravagant creations. Another project was called Yachting Limited Edition.
The novelty is based on the sports version of the G-Class SUV – Mercedes-AMG G63. Masters from Czechowice-Dziedzice drew their inspiration in the image of luxury yachts. The first copy of the novelty went to its wealthy customer in Dubai, UAE.
The car received a bright two-tone color in the style of Maybach models. The upper part of the SUV is painted in glossy black enamel, and the roof and the lower part of the body panels resemble the unpainted bodies of race cars of the 30s. Polished 22-inch alloy wheels and an elegant two-tone spare wheel cover with a nautical compass print complement the look.
Like other Carlex Design projects, the Mercedes-AMG G63 Yachting Limited Edition has an exclusive trim. It is made in the style of marine yachts and successfully combines light wood and white Alcantara.
Regardless of the chosen interior configuration, the interior ceiling is decorated with embroidery with a compass and imitation of protective strips, and the floor is completely covered with natural wood. Appropriate wood trim is used to trim the steering wheel, dashboard and door cards.
No modifications to the power unit were made, and they are unlikely to be needed by the Mercedes-AMG G63. The twin-turbocharged 4-liter V8 develops 585 hp, and the torque reaches an impressive value of 850 Nm. This is enough to accelerate the SUV to 100 km / h in 4.7 seconds, and the maximum speed with the optional AMG Driver’s Package reaches 240 km / h.
