After it goes on sale, the car should become the main competitor of the Tesla Model Y crossover.
The American company Fisker has unveiled new data on its electric crossover Ocean. Now, in some respects, it can be compared with the main competitor – Tesla Model Y. Recall that the car’s debut was to be held on March 3 at the Geneva Motor Show, but the event was canceled. Representatives of the brand decided not to torment their fans and revealed some details. The length of the novelty will be 4,640 mm, the width is 1,930 mm, and the height will reach 1,615 mm. Tesla Model Y has much larger parameters – 5000x2000x1600 mm.
The power plant parameters have not yet been disclosed – it is only known that, depending on the modification, the car will be equipped with one or two electric motors. But the power reserve has already been announced – Fisker Ocean will be able to travel 480 km without recharging. Initially, it was more than the Tesla Model Y, which was declared 450 km. However, Tesla engineers have modernized, and now the SUV is able to cover up to 500 km.
The start date for serial production of Fisker Ocean has already been announced – it will begin in the fourth quarter of 2021, and the first shipment to customers will take place in the first half of 2022.
Moreover, the car can already be ordered – the basic version costs 37,499 US dollars. To place an order, a prepayment of $ 250 is required. Cars will be available in the American and European car markets.
