“Fresh” details about the new compact pickup Ford Maverick 2022 have become knownAugust 14, 2020
From insiders’ reports, it became known that in addition to all other features, the compact pickup Ford Maverick 2022 model year will receive a sliding rear window with an electric drive.
There are few official details about the new Ford Maverick pickup, so any piece of information that comes up is of particular value. For example, according to the online community Ford Authority, the small truck will have a sliding rear window.
It is unclear if this panel will operate manually or from a power source. However, the latter seems more likely – a four-door prototype of the novelty was previously captured, the “spy” pictures of which we previously published. It would be difficult for drivers to reach back and slide the rear window with their hand.
The sliding rear window isn’t too surprising a feature.
For example, there is such a feature in the functionality of the mid-size Ranger truck and on the full-size F-150, not to mention many other pickups. On the other hand, the modern Fiat Toro truck available in the Brazilian market only has a fixed rear window.
Ford Authority says the new Maverick will be built on the C2 platform of the American brand Ford, on which the new generation Bronco Sport and Escape (Kuga) crossovers are based. There are also rumors that the small truck shares a platform with the Ford Transit Connect van.
Ford plans to start mass production of the Maverick compact pickup at its plant in Mexico. Current information suggests the truck will first go on sale in Brazil and then be available in the United States and the rest of the world.
The South American version of the Maverick can come standard with front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive will be available as an option. Expect sales of new items to begin either at the very end of 2021 or early 2022. Prices reportedly will start at $ 20,000
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that there are five different variants of the 2021 Ford Bronco SUV. The American automaker unveiled five concept versions of the Ford Bronco in celebration of the 55th anniversary of the birth of the iconic SUV.
