French car market in June moved to sales growthJuly 15, 2020
At the end of June, the French car market became the leader among all European countries.
Experts from the analytics and statistics agency shared data on new car sales in France in June 2020. Last month, residents of France purchased 233,820 new cars, which is 1.2% more than in June 2019. Such a result was a breath of fresh air for the French automotive industry after a fall in sales in the spring due to the coronavirus epidemic.
However, according to the results of the first half of the year, the figures are still disappointing – French dealers were able to sell 715,804 new cars – this figure is 38.6% lower than last year. Note that the French continue to give preference to local car brands. The leading position in June was occupied by the Renault brand with a result of 54,961 sold vehicles. Peugeot is in the second position, dealers of which were able to find buyers for 34 508 cars (-5.7%).
The Bronze rating goes to another PSA representative – Citroen. Last month on cars of this brand 20 929 residents of France opted for “minus” 8.5%.
The fourth line goes to Dacia with the result of 16 574 cars sold. It was Dacia that showed the best dynamics among the leaders, increasing sales by 8.1%. The top 5 German Volkswagen closes with a result of 13,714 sold cars (-14.1%).
