In Saudi Arabia put up for auction tuning Ferrari Dino 308 GT4
The unique Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 with an elevated suspension and off-road tires will be auctioned in Riyadh. Atelier DriverSource finalized a sports car of 1975 in the style of the rally Lancia Stratos: the Italian coupe acquired a utilitarian cross-body kit, additional light and a whip antenna.
The intervention in the “three hundred and eighth” design was not limited to an increase in clearance: the engineers had to reconfigure the steering, replace the standard bumpers with custom steel elements, add a towing hook to the front of the body and paint the lower part of the compartment black. Complete the image 15-inch Michelin tires with high profile 205/70 VR15, mudguards made of fiberglass and engraved Safari logo on the front wings.
Salon 308 Dino GT4 restored to factory configuration, restoring leather trim, velvet inserts and replacing mats. Regular seat belts gave way to four-point production Repa, aluminum pedals and light tinted front glass appeared. Although at one time the “three hundred and eighth” was the debut mid-engined Ferrari model with a 2 + 2 interior layout, this particular car was ordered from the factory in a rare two-seater configuration.
The intervention of tuning masters did not affect the engine and transmission: under the hood, a regular three-liter V8 with four Weber carburetors, which produces 243 horsepower, is under the hood of a Ferrari. Power is transmitted to the drive axle via a five-speed manual gearbox. The standard 308 GT4 is gaining the first hundred in 6.4 seconds – it is obvious that the upgraded sports car is slightly lost in dynamics.
Together with the car, the buyer will be offered an original service book, a copy of the instruction manual, a service history for four decades and a set of factory tools. The auction in Riyadh will be held this weekend. The starting price of the lot is not reported.
