Formula E Announces Launch of Race at Home Online CompetitionApril 18, 2020
The ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge competition will consist of two separate tournament tables: in one, Formula E racers will participate, and in the other the fastest gamers and car racers.
Those who will be the winners in the second table will be able to ride on the track on a real car during a racing weekend.
Virtual races are scheduled for every Saturday for a 9-week period: the debut will be held on April 18 in the format of pre-season tests, therefore, here participants will be left without points.
The rest will go through the usual rules of Formula E, that is, the riders will have the opportunity to get extra points for winning the qualification and for the best lap in the race. According to the results of the last race double points are awarded. Gamers are required to take part in the qualification before each stage begins.
Everyone will be able to take part in the qualification of the first 4 days of each week. According to the results of each qualification, the 18 fastest riders will have the opportunity to participate in the main racing race, where well-known racing drivers will join them.
The championship can be monitored online through Formula E accounts on social networks.
