Formula 1 racers test the new Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAOctober 21, 2020
Formula 1 pilots test a “charged” version of the 533-horsepower sedan Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA.
Formula 1 drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi continue to test Alfa Romeo’s most powerful road car, the Giulia GTA sedan, at the company’s test track in Balocco. Based on the results of the races, the pilots convey to the brand engineers their impressions of the handling and aerodynamics of the sports car.
Recall that under the hood of the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA is a 2.9-liter turbo engine with 533 hp. From the factory, the car will be equipped with an Akrapovic titanium exhaust system, which gives the sedan a special sound. In addition, the GTA version is distinguished by a weight reduced by 100 kg, which was achieved through the use of carbon fiber in the creation of the hood, roof, front bumper, wheel arches, as well as the propeller shaft.
Thanks to all of the above changes, the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 310 km / h. The GTA version will cost £ 157,700. For those who don’t have that kind of money, a slightly simplified version of the GTAm sedan will be offered, which will cost 153,300 pounds. It should be noted that this is not only the most powerful road car Alfa Romeo, but also the most expensive. For comparison, the limited edition 8C Competizione coupe cost from £ 112,000.
