Formula 1: on the fourth day of the test was the best Hulkenberg
February 22, 2019Pilot Renault not only showed the best result on the last day of the pre-season tests, but also caused red flags
On Thursday in the morning session, Alex Elbon surpassed yesterday’s Quyat result, driving the best lap in 1:17, 637. However, this was not the limit for cars with Pirelli C5 tires. It is on them that the riders show the fastest time. The Nico Hulkenberg circle became the record of winter tests – 1: 17,393. Thus, Elbon moved into second place, and Australian Riccardo became third on Thursday – 1: 17.785.
Not without red flags: in the afternoon, the team asked Nico to stop the car in the third sector. After a while, Giovinazzi also stopped, after which the tests were suspended. When they were resumed four minutes before the checkered flag, the pilot’s car was able to be turned on, but at the end of the session, he stopped again. This is the first test week and over. In total, he drove the greatest number of laps on this day – 154.
The drivers of the Mercedes Bottas and Hamilton are located on the fourth (1: 17.857) and fifth (1: 17.977) places. Ferrari LeClaire ranked sixth with a score of 1: 18.046, Landau Norris 7th (1: 18.431). The following follow: 8 – Giovinazzi (1: 18,511), 9 – Grosjean (1: 18,563), 10 – Magnussen (1: 18,720), 11 – Extinguished (1: 18,780), 12 – Stroll (1: 19,644), 13 – Russell (1: 20,997), 14 – Kubica (1: 12,542).
In Williams, Robert Kubica rolled in the morning, and George Russell in the afternoon. He then had problems with the car, so that for two hours he could not leave the boxes. So ended the first week of tests. The next one starts on March 26th.
