Former Infiniti chief designer Karim Habib joins KiaSeptember 6, 2019
Karim Habib, who has been responsible for the design of the new Infiniti cars since 2017, moves to Kia. In this company, a 49-year-old Canadian of Lebanese descent will occupy a similar position. In turn, Taisuke Nakamura became the head of the Infiniti design department. Habib will head the Kia Design Center, which is located in Namyang (South Korea), in October this year. Kia expects it to help determine the future design strategy and direction of the Korean brand. In his new position, he will work with the head of the Hyundai-Kia design department, Luke Donkerwolke.

Habib joined Infiniti in the summer of 2017. In this post, he was replaced by Alfonso Albaisa, who transferred to the position of senior vice president of global design at Nissan. Prior to this, Habib worked at BMW.
