Ford will release an affordable electric crossover in two yearsSeptember 4, 2018
Ford Company in 2020 will release a new crossover with a fully electric power plant, which will have a “unique price positioning.” This is reported by the press service of the American automaker.
“We will offer a new electric car at a price that will appeal to Ford customers. There is nothing like that with such characteristics on the market right now, and there will not be anything like that at this price, “said Ford’s global product development director for electrified vehicles, Darren Palmer.
While the novelty is only known that it will borrow a number of design solutions from the sports car Ford Mustang. The electric car will be able to travel without recharging up to 480 km, large displays will be installed in the cabin, and its software will be updated “through the air” – through the cloud service.
By 2022, the US company intends to invest about 11 billion dollars in the development of electrified cars. During this time, Ford will release about 40 such models, 16 of which will be fully equipped with electric power units.
