Ford will introduce the all-terrain Fusion Active in 2022April 24, 2020
Based on the European Mondeo station wagon, the four-wheel drive Active will remain the only representative of the Fusion line and compete with the Subaru Outback.
For the first time, insider information that the American brand is going to globally review its lineup appeared at the beginning of the year. After there were rumors about the release of a new version of the Fusion model, before the automotive industry began to experience serious consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.
Since many automakers are currently postponing or pausing development programs, debut and sale dates have not yet been announced.
Selling an all-terrain wagon in the American automobile market is a risky game for the manufacturer. But as soon as Ford abandons the Fusion sedan, known also as Mondeo, at the end of this year or at the beginning of next year, the appearance of a new model will be close.
It’s about Ford Fusion Active. Active engineering is not a huge advantage for Ford, as the company has long been offering a universal European version of the Fusion, Mondeo.
The novelty will receive four-wheel drive and a slightly raised suspension. The novelty should be set in motion by a forced turbocharged engine of 2.0 liters, connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission. A hybrid version of the model is also expected.
Prices for the new Ford Fusion Active should be between $ 30,000 and $ 40,000.
