Ford decided to extend the production time of the GT supercar due to the high demand for the model. The cycle will last until 2022, and the coupe production volume will increase from the previously planned 1000 to 1,350 copies. It is reported by the press service of the American brand.
As noted in the company, at the moment the demand for GT exceeds supply by about six times. An additional 350 supercars will be available for order from November 1 to December 1, 2018. Cars will be delivered to customers in the period from 2020 to 2022.
Ford GT new generation was introduced in 2016. Since then, the company has received about 6.5 thousand applications for the purchase of a coupe, the circulation of which was supposed to be limited to one thousand copies. It was planned to produce 250 cars annually, but in the first year Ford was able to collect only 138 supercars.
The new Ford GT is equipped with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo engine V6 family EcoBoost, issuing 655 hp and 745 Nm of torque. The coupe can accelerate to 100 km / h in about three seconds, and its maximum speed exceeds 345 km per hour.
