Ford will expand the line of electric crossovers MustangDecember 26, 2019
After the debut of the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the American company thought about the release of new electric cars.
The American brand intends to use cooperation with Volkswagen to expand the range of Mustang electric vehicles and attract a wider circle of customers.
“The influence of the Mustang was not taken into account until the premiere of the inspired Mustang. We are really excited that this brings an electric car, and yes, we have already said, ”said Murat Guler, chief designer of Ford of Europe.
Ford already has a plan for small electric vehicles based on an agreement with the VW Group to license its platform for electric vehicles MEB. In November, company experts held a meeting to discuss how to adapt the new architecture that underlies ID.3 to better meet Ford’s needs.
Auto Express designers developed rendering images that showed what the Mustang Mach-E’s “younger brother” might look like, built on the shorter wheelbase of the MEB platform.
The MEB platform can support rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, and it is likely that Ford will offer both models and a number of batteries of different sizes. This can give the Mustang EV power up to 302 hp. and 300 mile power reserve.
