Ford will create a racing car Fordzilla P1 specifically for gamesMarch 13, 2020
The American automaker will create a new race car, which will subsequently appear in racing simulators. Gamers around the world will help the company in this.
Strengthening its presence in the world of sports games or video games, the American brand Ford created Fordzilla as its first e-sports team. In a recent interview, a representative of Ford of Europe announced that his first virtual car project would be called P1, which is the name of the legendary hybrid model of the British brand McLaren. However, we do not think that there will be any problems with this, since the project aims to create a fully virtual vehicle for gamers.
Moreover, the car will be built from scratch – that is, it will not be based on any Ford production car – and will be developed by gamers themselves.
How? Information from players will be requested by gaming communities through a series of polls on Twitter under the @TeamFordzilla handle. Surveys will include options for key design attributes, from engine to cabin shape, that gamers can choose from. Crowdsourced design materials will then be collected and used by Ford experts to create a game model.
“In creating a virtual racing car, designers can unleash their imagination and create a truly perfect car. Gamer experience is crucial to make it the prettiest car ever, ”said Amko Leenarts, Design Director for Ford of Europe.
The Team Fordzilla P1 project will be led by five Ford eSports teams from France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK, respectively. Work on the project will begin this week via Team Fordzilla’s Twitter and Instagram channels.
