Ford updated the GT supercar and made it more productiveFebruary 6, 2020
Ford showed the supercar GT 2020 release. The coupe now has Akrapovič titanium exhaust, an advanced EcoBoost turbo engine and is available with 2 styling packages.
The main technical update for the Ford GT 2020 was the improved twin-turbo V6 3.5 EcoBoost, whose performance increased from 656 to 669 hp. The power unit has new calibrations, a wider shelf of torque, pistons with a modernized design of the cooling channel and more powerful ignition coils.
In addition, the engineers modernized the cooling of the intercoolers, for the sake of this, the shape of the side air intakes was changed, increasing the air flow by 50%, and increased the damping characteristics of the suspension in the “Track” mode.
The standardly updated Ford GT was equipped with an Akrapovič exhaust system. And for the supercar, they prepared 2 new styling sets. Liquid Carbon – a body of unpainted carbon fiber under a transparent varnish, carbon wheels with titanium bolts, 6-point safety belts, 5 trim options and 5 colors for brake calipers. In particular, GT Liquid Carbon has the ability to apply racing stripes and paint the mirror housing in one of 7 shades.
Ford Performance also upgraded the Gulf Racing livery. Now the transition between blue and orange is highlighted with a thin black stripe in the style of the winner of the Le Mans 1968-1969 GT40. The carbon number on the sidewalls is now not “9”, but “6”, again like a race sports car from the 1960s.
The updated Ford GT has already begun to deliver. Supercar will stop producing in 2022.
