Ford’s top manager offered to compare the F-150 and Cybertruck

Sandeep Madra, head of the new Ford X business unit for the American brand, suggested that Elon Musk make an objective comparison of the F-150 and Cybertruck pickups. Madra wrote about this on Twitter, attaching a link to the now popular video with tug of war.

The video, which Cybertruck easily pulls the Ford F-150, was shown during the presentation of the Tesla pickup. However, the competition has already been called unfair. Apparently, Tesla decided to take the modification of the F-150 with rear-wheel drive, which weighs less and is shod in other tires. Sandeep Madra also drew attention to this, proposing an honest comparison. Moreover, Musk immediately agreed to this.

Cybertrack made its debut the day before. The pickup received an unusual wedge-shaped design in the spirit of the concepts of the 1970-1980s, a stainless steel body and polymer glasses. The number of electric motors varies from one to three. The most powerful option accelerates to 97 kilometers per hour in 2.9 seconds, and its maximum speed is 209 kilometers per hour. Cruising range – over 800 kilometers. The price range is from 39,900 to 69,900 dollars.

To date, the number of pre-orders for Cybertruck has exceeded 200 thousand. However, this production will begin only at the end of 2021, and buyers will see the first cars in 2022. There are still a lot of design questions. So, the head of Automobili Pininfarina Michael Pershke believes that the product version will not be so radical, and everything shown by Musk at the presentation is just a PR move.
