A special version of the Ford pickup is supposed to go into series and will be sold in South American countries.
Ford brought a Ranger truck in the Storm version to the Sao Paulo Motor Show. While the novelty is presented in the status of the concept. Under the hood, the Ford Ranger Storm is set to a 3.2 liter serial five-cylinder turbodiesel with a capacity of 197 hp. with a torque of 470 Nm. It comes with a six-speed automatic transmission. For comparison, the Ranger Raptor is equipped with a two-liter four-cylinder diesel diesel turbo engine EcoBlue, its return is 213 hp, and the maximum torque is 500 Nm. It is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission development of Ford.
The Ranger Storm equipment list includes parking sensors, air conditioning, a rear-view camera, and a SYNC 3 infotainment system.
In Brazil, Ford Ranger Storm is likely to become serial, because the small EcoSport SUV in the same version, which has the same design, can already be bought in this country. However, in the States they do not plan to sell this pickup, as in Europe. But in the Old World and the United States will offer a “charged” Raptor, but for Brazil the latest version is not provided.
According to sales statistics, the demand for Ford Ranger in Brazil is growing. So, from January to September 2018, 14,747 copies were sold. This result is 39.9% more than in the first nine months of last year. Despite a noticeable increase, the model still lags behind the competitors, and significantly. So, for the same period, the Fiat Toro sold 43,035 vehicles in the country in a circulation, 27,346 units of the Toyota Hilux, and 23,211 cars in the Chevrolet S10.
Recall that in Sao Paulo a completely new pickup truck VW Tarok also debuted, however, also as a concept, but the Germans have already said that this truck will be sent to the series. The car is built on the MQB platform with a transverse engine and a rear spring multi-link, it has a bearing body. In the line of engines – petrol turbo 1.4 TSI (150 hp) and diesel 2.0 TDI (150 hp). Tarok is expected to become a global model.
