Ford Ranger pickup will receive a powerful hybrid versionFebruary 23, 2021
In terms of sheer power, this could be the best engine for a new Ford vehicle.
The new generation Ford Ranger pickup continues to acquire new details. On Tuesday, February 23, there was information about the new power plant of the car. It will be a hybrid engine based on a 2.3-liter turbo engine. The total output of the power plant reaches 367 hp. at 680 Nm of torque.
It is expected that the same engine will appear on the Everest platform SUV. Such an engine not only helps to reduce emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere, but also saves fuel well – gasoline consumption per 100 kilometers does not exceed 3 liters in the combined cycle.
Some media outlets claim that the Ford Ranger Raptor will replace the 2.0-liter diesel engine with a 2.7-liter V6 petrol engine. Such a power unit is used on the new Ford Bronco and produces 314 hp. instead of 213 hp at the “diesel”.
All this fits well with the brand’s new concept on the European continent – Ford plans to sell only hybrid and all-electric cars there in 5 years.
Recall that Ford is experiencing certain difficulties with the reliability of the new Bronco SUV. Due to problems with the suspension, 1.7 thousand cars will be sent for repair.
