Ford Puma ST spotted during video advertisingJuly 30, 2020
A new small SUV was spotted in Eastbourne during a publicity shoot. The “charged” version of the Ford ST Puma first appeared in the UK without camouflage.
Seen without any disguise in the months leading up to its expected fall debut, the Puma ST was photographed by a member of the public who later posted the images to Twitter. The novelty at the sight of video cameras moved along a closed section of the coastal zone in Eastbourne along with the original Ford Racing Puma.
The captured vehicle bears all the hallmarks of previous Puma ST prototypes. In all likelihood, the new light green exterior color will be introduced on the first models at launch. Previous spy shots have confirmed that the Hyundai Kona N rival will feature a trapezoidal lower grille design, large high-performance alloy wheels wrapped in low-profile tires, and the same fender headlight clusters as the standard model.
The car’s performance is evidenced by the outstanding splitter-style lower body kit that extends around the car from the front to the rear bumper, engineered around twin tailpipes like the Fiesta ST, and tighter suspension settings in the spirit of the Fiesta ST. The larger wheels seem to hide the larger diameter front brakes, while the car appears to be lower than the regular Puma. The Fiesta ST is expected to share with the Puma ST a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine with 197 hp.
As recent photos confirm, the ST Puma version won’t be much different from the ST-Line version unveiled last April. But the novelty is expected to receive custom chassis customization, possibly including an optional limited-slip differential, selectable drive modes and launch control.
