Ford postpones production of the Ford Escape crossover to 2021October 16, 2020
According to published data, Ford has postponed the start of production of its new Ford Escape hybrid crossover to 2021.
We will remind that earlier the start of the assembly of new items was scheduled for the current year, however, the outbreak of coronavirus has made adjustments to these plans.
However, since October 14, Ford has announced a revocable campaign for the Escape hybrid crossover. The reason for the recall was the spontaneous combustion of vehicles during charging. In total, about 20,000 cars are being recalled. It is noted that the recall also influenced the start of production of the Escape due to the fact that the models have a number of common components.
The current generation Ford Escape PHEV is equipped with a 221-horsepower hybrid powertrain, which allows the car to travel on electric traction alone for up to 42 kilometers. The model is equipped with uncontested front wheel drive.
