Ford Performance extends the life of the Focus STFebruary 24, 2019
We are talking about cars release 2013-2018.
Despite the long-awaited appearance of the new Ford Focus ST in the European market, the Ford Performance division does not forget about the owners of the previous generation sports cars. Ford has just released a package that can boost the performance of the now-fresh Focus ST.
The package is designed for Ford Focus ST 2013-2018 release with a standard two-liter turbocharged engine EcoBoost. The main thing is that the package meets the most stringent requirements of the American environmental requirements of the Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board.
Spark plugs and software are included. It allows the Focus ST to switch to petrol with an octane rating of 91. But the manufacturer still recommends using 93. On this type of fuel, the Focus ST gets an additional 122 Nm of torque at 4200 rpm.
In addition, the package also includes software to “improve the sound of the engine.” All this the owner of Focus ST can install itself. To do this, as Ford Performance says, you must have a laptop with Internet access, a spark plug wrench, an 8 mm wrench, a torque wrench, a spark plug gap measurement sensor and a screwdriver.
It costs $ 620, but for an additional fee they offer another racing air filter and a sports exhaust system. In this case, Ford Performance warns that the use of fuel additives, to put it mildly, are not welcome. The package guarantees perfect performance even on the 91st gasoline. Moreover, fuel consumption remains unchanged.
